Reading 1 Thought from my book

Do you treat your body as well as you treat your car?

Summary:
Meghan opens her book, 30 Little Thoughts, to a random page and talks through what comes up. This one is thought 19: what we eat matters more than we even imagine. Your body is constantly doing its work without being reminded ... your heart pumps, your lungs breathe, your eyes blink. That gives self-respect a different meaning, which includes respecting your one-time gifted vessel enough to put in the proper fuel. Meghan walks through the car analogy, and what changes when you get curious about why your body is breaking down instead of getting frustrated with it. Then she widens it to exercise, sweating, crying, and everything else you ingest ... people, podcasts, music, TV, books, scrolling.

Takeaways:

  • What we eat matters more than we even imagine
  • Self-respect also means respecting your one-time gifted vessel and giving it the proper fuel
  • When your body sends a signal that something's off, look at why it's breaking down
  • Everything you ingest affects you ... food, the people you spend time with, podcasts, music, TV, books, and scrolling
  • Your body is meant to exercise, sweat, and cry
  • Your body keeps going every second ... blinking, breathing, growing hair and nails ... and deserves a celebration

What You'll Walk Away With:
A new appreciation for your body ... everything it does for you every second, without you ever having to ask
