Ep 3: Layers under the physical issues & pain
Today we're talking about layers underneath or surrounding the physical issues and pain that (0:08) we experience. I believe there are internal mental and emotional energies behind and surrounding (0:15) illnesses. It's not just a physical illness.
I know that this is an uncommon perspective, (0:23) that a physical ailment is not just a physical issue originally. There are books, of course (0:30) Dr. Google, Louise Hay, Ina Seagal, Julia Cannon, that speak to this as well and I find it really (0:38) fascinating. I reference it all the time for myself, for other people, whether I share it (0:42) with them or not.
I'm just always curious what else there is besides the physical issue. People (0:49) often go to medications immediately, right? They start defining themselves with it like, (0:54) I'm on thyroid medicine or I'm taking heart blood pressure medicine or I'm on this, right? (1:00) Our living with it, coping. I was told by an ear doctor, I had this really loud ear thing on the (1:08) left side.
It was, I don't know, a decade ago. I was seeing this ENT, I saw a bunch of ENTs and (1:15) one of these ENTs said, let's talk about coping. You have to cope with this.
As a musician and as (1:21) me, I stood up quietly and I said, thank you so much and I left his office because no, (1:27) no, we can talk about how I got that resolved later. You don't have to cope with it, right? (1:35) And you don't have to define yourselves with it and you also don't have to blame your ancestry (1:40) and genetics. Yes, there are three main factors that play into our health or our not health, (1:47) right? Imbalanced health.
One, genetics, of course. Two, environment. Three, lifestyle choices (1:54) and lifestyle choices and environment and a little bit genetics but less.
Lifestyle choices (2:01) and environments play into our knee jerk or mindful reactions or responses to things and thus (2:09) what manifests in the physical. I believe pretty strongly in a balance, a combination with western (2:17) and non-western medical support. I have a metal knee.
I have metal in my wrist. I fell and broke (2:22) it. I've got metal in my toes.
I did all of these things, the metal knee and those other surgeries, (2:29) I did all the things they prescribed to me pre and post surgery except the pain meds. I can talk my (2:35) way through that with you. Also, that's personal.
I'm really affected very strongly with medications (2:42) just probably because of how I am, how I'm wired and I wasn't able to keep anything down. Even the (2:49) anti-nausea medicines were making me nauseous and I was just puking everything up and if you can't (2:54) keep water down or food, I was like, I know I actually can't heal and be well and so I (3:01) then took myself off the pain medicines and did everything as naturally as possible (3:07) with the rest of the doctors suggestions and the physical therapy and stuff. What I want to share (3:11) with you, however, that was a little aside of part of my story.
I want to share with you out of (3:17) one book. I've got three, there's many out there but Louise Hay, if you think about knee (3:24) and right side because my right knee is the total knee replacement surgery. (3:31) The right side of the body is giving out, letting go, masculine energy, men, the father.
It's kind (3:39) of doing, doing, doing, going, going, going like Mars, Martian energy. Push, push, push, produce more, (3:44) do more, never enough and then knee represents pride and the ego. I am flexible, I am flowing (3:53) is one of the healing sentences that she puts for knees because it's flexibility, it's motion.
(4:01) Pride and ego, again, we can talk in another podcast about my feelings on ego. I do think (4:07) and know ego is very important. It keeps us safe and alive and at the same time, if we lump it with (4:13) pride and pushing and doing and overdoing and more doing and work harder and then you look (4:19) at the right side of the body.
I balance my masculine energy easily and effortlessly (4:25) and then you look at the knee. I am flexible and flowing. A couple of my clients have run thyroid (4:33) issues, thyroid concerns, actually many of them and one of them, a couple years ago, really (4:40) successfully moved her way with her doctor off of meds when she'd been on it for a long time (4:46) for hypothyroidism.
So I'm going to look at those in the book with you guys just because it's fun, (4:53) bear with me while I flip through the pages. So thyroid in general, in Louise Hay's book, (4:59) she says, humiliation, I never get to do what I want to do, when is it going to be my turn? (5:05) Right? And then hypothyroidism, giving up feeling hopelessly stifled. Hyperthyroidism, (5:13) rage at being left out.
So if we read the thyroid and like the sentence that she says to balance, (5:19) more into balance, I move beyond old limitations and now allow myself to express freely and creatively. (5:27) Hypo is I create a new life with new rules that totally support me. And hyper is I am at the (5:35) center of my life and I approve of myself and all that I see.
Reflecting it towards us and (5:42) allowing the thyroid to come into balance, not only with the help of doctors and meds, (5:47) which are very important, also with the help of us, our mind, our emotions, our focus, right? (5:55) It's not something to fly solo on at all or base things on or around, but including, (6:03) acknowledging and consciously moving through, releasing and letting go of energetic, mental, (6:09) emotional, internal patterns alongside with Western medicine to heal is a hugely powerful, (6:15) deeper level, next level healing source or tool. And addressing the energetics behind things, (6:23) underneath things, surrounding things can also help prevent, right? Because genes don't have to (6:30) express or can be a lot lighter. Like if there's, oh, there's a history of, you know, heart troubles (6:34) in my family.
Okay, fact, right? That's true. And if you really are intentionally curating (6:45) and choosing and opening and expanding and being in alignment with yourself and coherence with (6:50) yourself and your lifestyle choices and your environment, the genes that, you know, your family (6:56) has run heart issues do not have to express, or it can be a lot lighter scenario that can be more (7:03) easily helped, managed, supported and maybe even alleviated, right? Because of internal patterns, (7:12) you are no longer running. And instead, you're choosing to address, look at and move through (7:17) and heal and no longer run at all those internal patterns.
So in my opinion, full healing, full (7:25) welling, being well, not always being healing, healing is a, you know, beautiful action, but we (7:32) don't want to always be healing. We want to be well, right? Healing and welling needs both (7:37) Western and non-Western medicine, energetic environment and energetic environmental and (7:42) lifestyle acknowledgement. Have you ever thought about that? Old stuff you've carried around (7:48) internally for months, or decades for that matter, that then show up as physical issues, (7:54) manifested from not only physical makeup genetics, but also lifestyle choices and environment and (8:01) vibrational energetic patterns, you're running internally, mentally, emotionally, often very (8:09) unconsciously on the subconscious layer.
Right? Let's talk about this. Let's talk about this. This (8:16) is one thing I work on all the time with my one on one clients, unpacking the mental, physical, (8:21) emotional layers around stuff in their lives and physical ailments they want to heal to release (8:27) deeper reasons and causes and get to the root to let go of these deeper layers.
So are you curious (8:35) what may be layered underneath what you're experiencing and going through? Anyway, thank (8:41) you for being here with me. I appreciate you and I'll talk to you in our next podcast.
