You don't owe anyone an explanation
You know the feeling … someone texts "I'd love to see you!" and before you've even checked in with yourself, you're already typing the paragraph … the dates you're busy, the reason, the whole case for your no.
You don't owe anyone an explanation.
You don’t have to justify your intendedly sacred vacation dates ... or your Saturday ... or do the well known internal dance when the ‘maybe" you say is actually a no.
One streamlined sentence with exactly what you do want does more for your nervous system than that entire paragraph defending yourself ever will 🤍
"Hey, Friday could work well. Want to meet at 6:30? What works for you?"
That's it.
If they can, awesome.
If they can't, you get to choose what you do with your own time, instead of over-explaining your way into giving it up anyway.
Where do you over-explain instead of just saying what actually works for you?
This is one of the same shifts I help clients make, across food, exercise, sleep, stress, all of it.
it’s time for you to actually be included in your life … again, or for the first time.
Love,
Meghan
